Mike "Mad Genius" Caro was born May 16, 1944 is a widely recognized professional poker player. Mike Caro pioneered poker theory and wrote several widely read poker books.
In 1978 Doyle Brunson's Super System: A Course in Power Poker, Mike Caro wrote the chapter on draw poker and added an appendix section that contained 50 statistical tables. Caro also consults with casinos about odds on their table games and was a key member of the development team who created Poker Probe, one of the first computer programs fo analyzing poker hands.
Mike Caro University of Poker, Gambling and Life Strategy, a poker school, is what Mike Caro is best known for as the founder and head instructor. In the minority, he stated in the early 90's that online poker would not only work, its popularity would become greater then casino poker.

In 1984 at the World Series of Poker he displayed his poker playing computer program, Orac - his last name backwards, which well before its time actually impressed many poker pros with its ability. a poker-playing computer program that he had written. Orac was the world's first serious attempt at an AI poker player, and most poker professionals were surprised at how well it played.
Mike Caro has won over $120,000 in live tournaments, though he has not had the success that most people would think. Mike has not won a World Series of Poker bracelet which he has tried harder in recent years to obtain by playing more events. However, his personal success in tournaments will never compare to the enormous contributions Mike Caro has made to the game of poker.
