Daniel Negreanu was born July 26, 1974 and he is from Toronto, Canada. Daniel Negreanu, known as 'Kid Poker' dropped out of high school to begin playing poker professionally. Moving from Canada to Las Vegas, Daniel Negreanu went bust in his first attempt at conquering the poker rooms on the Las Vegas strip. Returning home briefly to rebuild his bankroll, Daniel Negreanu's poker career took off in 1997 when he won two events at the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods Casino in Conneticut for $133,600 and being given the honorable distinction as the tournament's best all-around player.
The next year, Kid Poker became the youngest player to win a World Series of Poker bracelet at the age of 24 when he won the 1998 $2,000 Pot Limit Hold'em event and $169,460 (That record was broke in 2004 and again in 2006 by Jeff Madsen). His unbelievable tournament poker success between 2004-2005 made him a superstar. Two WSOP bracelets, two World Poker Tour titles, many final table appearances, WSOP player of the year in 2004 and WPT player of the year in 2005 were some of the many accomplishments that Daniel Negreanu amassed over a short time period when he dominated the sport.
When the gigantic Wynn Casino opened its doors Daniel Negreanu was hired as the poker room ambassador, where he played many pro players in high stake freeze out games. These winner take all battles had a minimum buy-in of $100,000 and the challenger could pick his choice of games. Many famous pros like Barry Greenstien took advantage of the opportunity to play their best game against Daniel, however, Daniel, who was playing with his own money, held his own.

Daniel Negreanu plays regularly in the 'Big Game' inside Bobby's Room at the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas. Daniel is well known for his involvement in the poker community by being very outspoken in poker forums, originally on the 2 + 2 forum and more recently on the his site Full Contact Poker. He admits that he is an action junkie who enjoys setting challenging goals for himself.
Daniel's poker style is based on playing quite a few hands similar to Danish Superstar Gus Hansen. However, Daniel's ability to read opponents makes him one of the best in the game and allows him to dominate the table even when he is playing weaker hands. Negreanu explained that this skill comes from his keen observation of his opponents, what hands his opponents play, and how capable they are of playing those hands. He watches carefully even when not involved in the hand so he will be able to get a good read on his opponents later when he is involved in a hand with them.
